Acne is common and can be easily treated. It may take several months to cure it. Inflamed acne needs to be treated early to prevent from scarring. Once the spots are gone, you may need maintain the treatment for several years to keep the spots away. Acne is the cause of spots. Most people with acne are aged between 12 and 25. Boys are more commonly affected than girls. Acne most often affects the face but may also affect the back, neck, and chest. They may range from mild to severe. About 9 among 10 teenagers develop little degree of acne. Mostly it is mild. However, it is estimated that about 3 in 10 teenagers have acne bad enough to need treatment to prevent scarring. Untreated acne can last about 4-5 years before settling.

1. Aloe vera-

It has anti-inflammatory property, when applied to an acne scar, it can cause the redness of that scar to fade away. Obtaining aloe gel directly from the aloe plant is ideal. Take a leaf from the plant wash and peel away the outer layer that is spiny till you reach the gel inside. Apply this gel directly on the acne scars twice daily, leaving it on for 30 minutes before washing it off with water.

2. Ripe Tomato 

Applying ripe tomato on your face can also help you in fading spots. Tomato will tighten open pores and will help to reduce oiliness of the skin. This home remedy is good for oily skin.

3. Cucumber-

Cucumber has 90% water content in it hence it's a natural way of keeping the skin moisturized, toned and hydrated instead of  having to apply over the moisturizers that can damage your skin. Cucumber help to hydrate the skin and soothe inflammation associated with acne scars. Cut off a few slices of fresh cucumber. Put cucumber slice on your acne scar directly and leave it for 15 to 30 minutes undisturbed. Rinse the skin with clear water gently. Repeat this remedy once a day.

4. Honey-

In ancient times, honey was used as an antibiotic to help heal the wounds. At present, it is still considered as an effective antiseptic as it helps to prevent the growth of disease causing organisms. Honey also has anti-inflammatory qualities that helps you to prevent the redness and swelling that come from acne. Apply honey with garlic (2-3 bulbs) to treat pimples at home naturally. As garlic has the healing properties that cure acne naturally. You can also eat garlic to fade your acne scars.

5. Mint-

Crushed mint is a good remedy for acne. Crush few fresh peppermint leaves thoroughly then, apply directly on the skin, and leave it for 10 minutes. Peppermint helps you relief from acne as it contains menthol which is a natural analgesic. Mint has anti-bacterial properties.
