Uses of fenugreek to reduce the risk of cholestrol

Fenugreek: A very good spice that is widely being used in every kitchen is fenugreek. Fenugreek is known as methi. Seeds of methi are small yellowish and somewhat triangular in shape.  The delicious taste of fenugreek in most of dishes is mouth-watering especially in parathas. Methi seeds are bitter to taste and have good flavor that is strong enough. The rich medicinal property of methi makes it a vital part of many peoples diet. The presence of proteins, lysine, iron and fiber. It also contain many medicinal properties. Fenugreek treatments are inexpensive and easy to try out. It has antiseptic as well as anti-inflammatory properties.

A waxy and fat-like substance that is made in the liver and other skin cells is cholesterol. Some dairy products, eggs, and meat contain cholesterol. Proper functioning of our body requires cholesterol. The cell walls of it are called membranes. They are required to make hormones, and the bile acids which help in digestion fat. Limited cholesterol is needed by your body. 

Cholesterol and its types:

  1. Cholesterol gets attached to protein and travel in blood. Lipoprotein is a combination of protein and cholesterol. The density of lipoproteins in your blood varies. The type of cholesterol depends protein density in relation to fat.
  2. “Bad" cholesterol means Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) because leads to plaque buildup on the artery walls. The risk of heart diseases is greater with more number of LDL in blood.
  3. "Good" cholesterol means High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) they remove the LDL from your body. It is good to maintenance HDL to a high level. When HDL level is low the heart disease risk is low. LDL is similar to very low density lipoproteins (VLDL). Mostly it contains fat than protein.

Here are some uses of fenugreek:

  1. Fenugreek water is the simple of regularizing cholesterol level in the blood.
  • Take 10-12 fenugreek seeds.
  • Roast them till they become crispy. Make them completely cool.
  • Make fine powder of the fenugreek seeds.
  • Get an air-tight jar and preserve this powder in it. Make a drink of a glass of water and fenugreek powder.
  • Drink this water two times a day. Fenugreek will regularize the blood flow in your body.
  1. The fenugreek seeds are used as spice. They add very good flavor and taste to your food. Sprouted fenugreek seeds are consumed as fresh tender or dried leaves. It is the best cooking herb. Here are provided the ways to use fenugreek in your food.
  2. Fenugreek leaves can be added in curry. Salad preparations can also be included with fenugreek. Roasted fenugreek seeds sprinkling on your daily foods adds very good flavor and nutrition in your food. Slightly toast fenugreek seeds and add them in soups and marinades.
  3. Soak fenugreek seeds in water for 24 hours in hot water and eat it by adding some salt to. You should consume them before your meals.
  4. Idli or dosa batter can be added with sprouted fenugreek. The mixture of wheat or pan cake can be added with powder of fenugreek powder. Thus make the idli and dosa healthier.
