Top 6 Yoga Poses to Tighten your Skin

Yoga has been used since ancient times by several sages to combat ailments and to have a physically fit body. Yoga is known to have several benefits. It not just gives physical well being but is also said to promote emotional and mental well being. There are several asanas that have been recommended to enhance a beauty of a person. Yes this is true and it works. In fact there are array of asanas to tighten skin right from your belly to even your face.
 

1. Downward Facing Dog Pose/Adho Mukha Svanasana:

This asana is very good for toning the abdominal muscles and hence helps in giving flat belly. It also gives firmness to the back. It is also found to calm down a stressed mind.
  • Get down on your four limbs that is hands and legs
  • Balance your feet on the toes
  • As you exhale lift your hips
  • Straighten your feet and elbows to form an inverted V shaped body
  • Chest should face the knees
  • Hands should be straight
  • Hold the pose for 20 seconds and continue breathing

2. Cobra Pose/ Bhujangasana:

This asana is very good for toning the abdominal muscles and hence helps in giving flat belly. It also gives firmness to the back. It is said to give respite from kidney stone pain
  • Lie down on the floor.
  • Your chest facing the floor
  • Let your legs remain on the ground and lift your upper body
  • Bend your back towards the toes
  • Hold the pose for 15 seconds
  • Slowly get back to the initial position
  • Do this gently as a jolt can result in pain and injuries

3. Upward Facing Dog Pose/Urdhvamukhasvanasana:

This is the exact opposite of Downward Facing Dog Pose. This asana is good for abdominal muscles, back and the legs. It helps shape the thighs.
  • Lie down on the floor with your stomach touching the floor
  • Let your legs be apart and toes touching the ground
  • Chin should be touching the floor
  • Palms should be kept below the shoulders
  • Extend the arms in upward direction and look up
  • Curve your back
  • Remove your weight from the thighs
  • Balance your body on the toes and hands
  • Hold the pose for 20 seconds
  • Repeat the pose three times

4. Lion Pose / Simhasana:

This pose is beneficial both for the body and face. It is known to have a very positive effect in curing respiratory problems. It improves blood circulation to the face and keeps eyes and throat healthy.
  • Kneel down on the floor
  • Keep your hands on the side
  • Sit on your heels
  • Incline forward with your fingers on the ground at a distance of roughly 6 inches from your knees
  • Open your mouth
  • Stretch your tongue out
  • Give an audible distinct roar of a lion as you exhale
  • Repeat the roar two more times and then withdraw your tongue

5. Plank Pose /Kumbhakasana:

This amalgamation of the plank exercise and yoga gives strength to the spine and rejuvenates the body. It also tones the abdominal muscles
  • Take the push up position
  • Place elbows on the floor
  • But let the legs still be in the push up position
  • Hold on to the pose for 20 seconds

6. Palming:

This is good for the face. It mainly tones the skin around the eyes and makes you feel refreshed.
  • Rub your palms against each other
  • Place the warm palms on your eyes
  • The warmth will energize your eyes
  • Repeat it few times
These simple asanas will surely help tighten your skin and make you look younger for years together. It is advisable to perform the asanas initially under the guidance and expertise of a trained yoga instructor.
