Radish is a vegetable with white skin and white flesh. It can be eaten raw or cooked. To retain its freshness and crunchiness of this vegetable it is best to soak it in cold water.
 
Radishes are cruciferous vegetables and are added to all the different kinds of dishes and salads and hence are considered a type for garnish. Radishes are red in color. They are good for your health. They are crunchy and contain minerals and vitamins. Including radishes to your daily diet can also help in weight loss if you include this food with your daily meals. Radish is a known well for being part of the salad, as it is a root crop, sweet or pungent in taste with lot of juice. Radishes can be white, red, black, purple and long cylindrical in shape. They can be eaten raw, cooked or pickled. The oil obtained from radish is also used. The scientific name of radish is Raphanus Sativus which belongs to the Brassicaceae family.

Fiber helps to lower cholesterol by binding to low-density lipoproteins (LDLs), increasing your fiber intake may help you to lose weight. Fiber goes undigested and when you eat foods with plenty of fiber, you feel full longer. Radish eating adds fiber to your diet.

Radishes are low in calories and if you replace some of your regular snacks that are high in fat and calories with them, you will be consuming less. Particularly when you eat vegetables eaten or with little added fat or sauces, can be filling but low in calories. Some of your caloric intake will be reduced naturally by replacing foods that are high in fat and sugar with radish. 12 calories are present in ½ cup of one serve of radish. Radishes are filling that is it fills your stomach and satisfies your hunger easily without giving you many calories. They are low in digestible carbohydrates and contain a great amount of water, it is an extremely good dietary option for weight loss. As radishes are diuretic in nature they also help with jaundice, piles, urinary disorders, fever, cancer, leucoderma and also skin disorders.
