Women can go to any extent to get that flawless looking beautiful skin. More emphasis is laid on cleaning and moisturizing the skin so that it remains clear of all impurities and is soft smooth and supple. We often forget that for the perfect skin one needs to follow the cleansing-toning-moisturizing regime every single day. The toning part is easily forgotten and that creates a barrier between you and your dream of perfect skin.

Toning has three functions:

  • Remove dirt
  • Absorb excess oil from the skin
  • Keep the skin clean
From the above points it is clear that toning the skin is a must especially if you have an oily skin. There are several market products available as skin toners but these are not only expensive they are also laden with components which can damage the skin. It is therefore better to make skin toners at home using the easily available ingredients at home.

Home Made Skin Toners for Oily Skin:

1. White Vinegar:

White vinegar has astringent action .It clears the skin of impurities.
  • Take white vinegar and water in same proportions in a container.
  • Mix it well
  • Wipe the face using cotton balls.
  • This toner can be used everyday.

2. Mint Leaves:

Along with toning mint leaves also have a cooling effect on the skin.
  • Boil water
  • Add few mint leaves to the solution
  • Allow the mixture to cool.
  • Wipe face gently with cotton balls dipped in the solution.

3. Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera tones the skin and it also helps heal sunburns and rashes. Take a little of aloe vera gel and apply it as a toner to the face.

4. Cucumber and yogurt:

Cucumber and yogurt tone the skin and they also clean it .Hence it acts as cleanser as well as a toner. They also have a cooling effect on the skin.
  • Grate a cucumber.
  • Add it to yogurt.
  • Mix it well.
  • Apply it on the face.
  • Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Wash gently with water.

5. Camphor and Rose Water:

Rose water has a cooling effect on the skin while camphor is good for skin that is prone to acne and skin that is very oily.
  • Mix a pinch of camphor with rose water.
  • Apply it to the face with cotton ball
  • Tone the skin with this toner thrice in a day.

6. Ice Cold water:

This simple toner tones the skin effectively. Just apply ice cold water to clean face using cotton ball and see the amazing effect.

7. Rose Water:

Rose water gives a cooling effect and also removes the excess oil and gives a glowing skin. Apply rose water to the face with cotton ball to get beautiful skin.

8. Peach and olive oil:

Peach helps in giving oil free clean skin and olive oil makes the skin soft.
  • Peel peach and mash the fleshy part.
  • Add few drops of olive oil to it.
  • Mix well
  • Add cream to it.
  • Apply the mixture to the face.
  • Leave it for 10 minutes
  • Wash with clean water.
Instead of olive oil you can use almond oil.

9. Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice helps in skin lightening, absorbs excess oil and also has astringent action. Apply lemon juice to the face using cotton balls daily. Instead of lemon juice lemon peels can be applied to the face.

10. Egg White:

Egg white with its rich protein content is not only a good toner it also helps in skin tightening.
  • Extract the egg white of one egg
  • Apply it to the face.
  • Leave it for 10 minutes.
  • Wash face with cold water.
  • This remedy should be followed daily.

11. Tomato juice and honey:

Tomato juice removes the skin impurities and honey keeps it soft. This combination makes an excellent skin toner.
  • Take tomato juice in a bowl
  • To it add equal quantity of honey
  • Mix to make a paste
  • Apply it on the face.
  • Wash face with cold water after 15 minutes

12. Neem Leaves:

Neem leaves remove the excess oil and fight against any infections.
  • Add few neem leaves to water.
  • Boil the water for 15 minutes.
  • Turn off the flame and keep a lid on the container.
  • Let the mixture cool.
  • Once it cools down strain the solution.
  • Use this solution as a toner daily.

13. Apple and honey:

Skin toner made from apple and honey gives soft vibrant skin.
  • Mash an apple
  • Add honey to it.
  • Mix well.
  • Apply it on the face for 15 minutes.
  • Wash face with cold water.

14. Green Tea:

Green tea is excellent for skin especially to avoid wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Add green tea to water
  • Steep for 10 minutes
  • Cool the solution
  • Strain the solution
  • Use this solution everyday in the morning as a skin toner.
Skin toners for oily skin can be easily prepared at home using readily available ingredients in our kitchen. Not only are they safe for the skin they are also much cheaper as compared to the market skin toners. Remember that your skin needs the CTM treatment daily that is cleansing-toning-moisturizing. Especially if you have oily skin make sure that after using a cleanser use a home made toner to get the perfect skin.
