Dark circles under the eye can make a person look dull and tired and also affects the overall personality of the person.There are several reasons for dark circles like stress, lack of sleep. poor diet,allergies.genes.
 

There are some easy handy tips that can help reduce dark circles to a great extent. Listed below are a few of them.

1.Sufficient Sleep:

Adequate sleep of at least 7 to 8 hours does magic in reducing dark circles. Also avoiding stress is important if one wants to reduce dark circles.

Wholesome diet rich in vitamins is of utmost importance for healthy skin. Diet rich in leafy vegetable, fruits, juices, legumes should be consumed. Also, one must drink sufficient water to flush away toxins and keep the body hydrated.

3. Quit smoking and drinking:

Smoking and alcohol consumption dehydrates the body and can result in dark circles and hence must be avoided.

4. Tomatoes:

The antioxidants present in tomatoes help in reduction of dark circles. A paste of tomato puree, lemon juice, turmeric powder and gram flour should be applied gently to the skin beneath the eyes. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with water. Following this practice at least twice a week reduces dark circles.

5. Cucumber and potatoes:

Slice of cucumber can be kept on the eyes to avoid dark circles. Keep the slice for 20 minutes and then wash eyes with warm water. Cucumber juice can also be applied. Instead of cucumber one can use potatoes as well.
Mixture of grated potato and grated cucumber can also be applied to reduce dark circles as potato is a good bleaching agent and cucumber is a good coolant

Almond oil is enriched with nourishment. Following a practice for a period of one month of applying almond oil to the dark circles and leaving it overnight reduces dark circles drastically.

7. Mint Leaves:

Crush mint leaves and apply it to the dark circles for 5 to 10 minutes and then wash it off gently. This remedy is also found to reduce dark circles.

8. Orange Juice:

A mixture of orange juice and glycerin is also an effective remedy for dark circles.

9. Tea Bags:

Place tea bags in the refrigerator and place them on the eyes for 20 minutes to reduce dark circles. Tannin in the tea is effective in lightening the color of the skin.

10. Fenugreek Seeds:

Soak fenugreek seeds for 3 hours and grind it. To this paste add turmeric and raw milk and apply this to the dark patches for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. This pack helps in skin lightening.

11.Masoor Dal:

Soak masoor dal overnight and grind it. To this paste add tomato puree, lemon juice and turmeric powder and apply it to the dark circles.

Doing yoga, exercise on a daily basis improves circulation and makes the skin healthy and lively and helps in the reduction of dark circle.

In addition to the above tips one can also use rose water which has anti inflammatory properties and is a good coolant. A simple ice pack is also a good option for dark circles and puffiness
